Fate is the second part of a diptych of paintings that function as a vanitas. As it felt logical to me that fate oftentimes comes from above I used white car lacquer to paint a bird-poop-pattern. The work ‘Fate’ proposes to look at the inevitable in a different way, with admiration, resignation and devotion.
